Replacement Screen Measurement Checklist
For a replacement wedge wire screen, record the outside envelope, active screening dimensions, slot opening, mounting interfaces, flow direction and operating duty. Include an equipment reference, annotated photographs and the current drawing revision where available. Photos alone cannot confirm fit or load suitability.
Record the existing component’s identity
Start with the equipment make and model, the screen or drawing reference and the position of the screen in the machine. State whether the existing component is an original part or an earlier replacement. Describe why it is being replaced: routine wear, damage, loss of throughput or a fit problem.
Measure the interface before the screening area
Document where the component seats and how it is attached. Include overall dimensions, mounting-hole centres, sealing faces, flange dimensions and the available removal path. Distinguish measurements of a worn component from the intended dimensions on an approved drawing.

Mark orientation and service conditions
Photograph the screening face and support side separately. Mark flow direction, feed direction or inside/outside orientation. Record the nominal slot from the drawing if known, rather than inferring the original slot from a distorted or worn area.
Include normal and maximum temperature, differential pressure or process load where relevant. For rotating equipment, provide operating speed and the required acceptance criteria. Add cleaning direction and conditions when they differ from normal operation.
Use photos to explain details
A useful photo set shows the full component, its working surface, support structure, connections and the failure or wear area. Place a readable dimension reference in detail photographs where practical, and annotate each image with its view and orientation. Use a dimensioned drawing or measurement sheet for critical fit values.
Resolve unknowns before production
If a slot, grade, tolerance or dimension is unknown, label it as unknown in the enquiry. Record who will approve the final drawing and which acceptance criteria apply. A quotation based on assumed measurements should be clarified before the order is finalized.
For measurement or access inside equipment, follow the site’s isolation and maintenance procedure. The component checklist does not replace that procedure.
Prepare the replacement request
Attach the drawing, measurement sheet and photographs, then add quantity, destination and requested timing. Use the RFQ checklist and discuss material and inspection documentation at the quotation stage.
